Holy Spirit Catholic School Division Board of Trustees Ratifies CUPE Collective Agreement
On May 14, 2025 the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division Board of Trustees ratified the collective agreement with Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 1825 following ratification by CUPE members earlier this month.
“We are very pleased that a four-year deal was negotiated,” said Dr. Carmen Mombourquette, Board Chair for the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division. “Four years means that focus can be squarely placed on the primacy of student learning. Part of the work that comes from the negotiated settlement leads to a renewed focus on the means and ways through which cooperative work can occur around solving issues that might negatively impact student learning. The Board remains committed to providing a high quality and level of services and programming for our students in Holy Spirit Catholic School Division.”
Deputy Superintendent of Schools, Mrs. Anthea Boras, appreciates the collaboration and trust that was demonstrated by our bargaining teams throughout the negotiations and mediation. " We are proud of the positive relationships we have built together," she said. "We are very grateful for the hard work and dedication of our support staff. Their contributions are essential to student success and the smooth operation of our schools."
This new four year collective agreement spans from September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2028.
